Walking and Wildlife

With walking from the door in all directions it is perfect for a short stroll or longer treks onto the Long Mynd, Stiperstones and onto the Shropshire Way. The renowned Offa's Dyke is a short distance away; the 'town on the Dyke' - Knighton with its visitors center is worth a visit.

There is an abundance of wildlife with foxes and badger's sets just above the Byre; watching fox cubs on an early summer morning can be a special treat, while in the evening owls and bats can frequently be seen.

The range and amount of birdlife is fascinating ; families of bluetits, great tits, coal tits, long tailed tits, greenfinches, woodpeckers, goldfinches, robins, thrushes, blackbirds and wrens mean birdsong is frequently heard in the garden. While the surrounding fields and skies, play host to buzzards, curlews, ravens and plovers.
